A villa above the bay of Toulon

On its own headland

A restored Belle Époque villa standing among umbrella pines on a private point on the bay of Toulon, with the water on three sides. Lawns and terraces step down from the house to a long pool, and the sea is in view from almost every room.

Inside, the rooms are tall and full of light: a salon under a moulded ceiling with arched windows onto the garden, a dining room that opens through to a second sitting room, and five bedrooms, one of them a deep blue room with a freestanding bath and French windows onto a balcony above the water. Below, a games room with a pool table and a football table keeps a large party occupied. Outside there are two places to sit at any hour — a shaded corner sofa on the timber terrace, and parasols and loungers on the lawn where the pines meet the sea.
